Bangon Marawi

University of Bohol through the Community Extension Services Office (CESO) , Student Affairs Office (SAO), Supreme Student Government (SSG) and University of Bohol Union of Employees (UBUE) donated P140,000.00 to Deped Marawi City, Lanao de Sur. The amount was the proceeds of the successful Dagan para sa UBan which was joined by industry partners, alumni, parents, administrators, employees and students. The amount was received by Pharida L. Sansarona OIC Schools Division Superintendent of Marawi City, Faridah S. Balang, Division Cashier and Monaoray B. Taratingan , School Principal of Pendolonan Elementary School which is the school recipient of the donation.

Mr. Omar Sinsuat, Executive Director of Health Organization for Mindanao helped the university in identifying the school beneficiary as well as provided for logistics during the visit in Marawi City.

The Operation Tabang Para sa UBan is the humanitarian response program of the university which is activated in period of disaster. With the advent of the uprising in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur which spurred last May 23,2017, the Tabang alang sa Marawi City (Help for Marawi City) initiatives was organized. The initiatives included psycho-social debriefing to the home based internally displaced persons (IDP’s) from Marawi City who seek refuge in the Muslim Villages in the City and province. Food packs and hygiene kits was also distributed to the IDP’s.
