UB, Forge Partnership with US International School

The University of Bohol entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with Atlanta International School for the implementation of the Da Vinci Program last March 7, 2023, at the UB Instructional Resource Center (IRC). At the opening ceremony, UB President Victoriano B. Tirol, III, welcomed participants from partner schools together with their respective principals to wit, UB VDTALC - Maribeth D. Alpuerto, UB Junior High School – Ms. Grace Filomeno, UB Senior High School - Ms. Sofia Gantalao, and Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School - Ms. Maurine Castaño. Tirol likewise welcomed the team from the Atlanta International School composed of Dr. Marsha Maxwell, Head, of the AIS Innovation Team, Dr. Peluchi Flores, Director of Innovation, and Mrs. Jane Simpskins, Coordinator and Coach, Da Vinci Programs. The activity which was held last March 7 and 8, 2023 was participated in by 80 teachers from public and private schools in Tagbilaran City, including 80 public school students and 80 basic education students from the private schools.

As presented, Dr. Maxwell briefly emphasized the Da Vinci Program as an innovation the Atlanta International School conceptualized. It is aim at improving student learning by promoting innovative teaching practices in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning. Da Vinci Program is implemented through partnerships in teacher professional development with schools within and outside the United States of America. The whole program includes the conduct of training and workshops among teachers and students among partner schools. The Memorandum of Agreement was formally signed by UB President Victoriano B. Tirol, III, and Dr. Marsha Maxwell, Head of the AIS Innovation Team.
