Donna May Olaer of the University of Bohol – College of Criminal Justice (UB-CCJ) was recently selected as one of the Outstanding Criminology Students of the Year by the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP) last December 18, 2020.
Olaer, a 3rd-year student and President of the UB Supreme Student Government, was one of the select few Criminology students across the country bestowed this prestigious honor in recognition of her academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular achievements for the year 2020.
This year’s awarding ceremony for the Outstanding Criminology Students of the Year was live-streamed via Facebook and telecasted on MDN Teleradyo’s One Criminology Philippines program. The award, which was first given out in 2013, was conceived to truly empower and inspire more Criminology students to take leadership roles and excel in their academic engagements with value-laden character and attitude. Awardees must excel in academics, leadership, and social responsibility.
As one of the winners, Olaer will receive a plaque and certificates from PCAP, some gift items, and be featured in the PCAP Magazine and Newsletter. This latest distinction adds to the accolades received by the UB-CCJ and its students in recent years. It can be recalled that UB’s Criminology program is the only one in the entire province that is PAASCU Level I Accredited.
