UB Penmasters shine in city division presscon tilt

With a determination and passion for excelling as their driving force, seven members of the University of Bohol - Junior High School Penmasters emerged triumphant during the annual 2019 Division Schools Press Conference (DSPS) held at Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School last October 12, 2019.
With the theme: "Empowering Communities through Campus Journalism," the said press conference was participated in by delegates from 34 public and private elementary and secondary schools in the City of Tagbilaran. It aimed to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of journalism by expressing it through different journalistic endeavor and approaches; provide activities which will encourage the students to pursue career/ studies in journalism; and enhance journalistic competence through healthy and friendly competitions.
The Penmasters were mentored by Filipino teachers –April Joyce Jumawid, Margie Sheir Wagas, Mercialyn Digaum, and English teachers - Hannah Adellit B. Rodriguez, Jove Ann T. Digal and Michelle I. Esto, School Paper Adviser with the support of School Principal Grace G. Filomeno.
As a result of their feat, the winning Penmasters will be among the representatives of the Tagbilaran City Schools Division for the upcoming Regional Schools Press Conference in Mandaue City, Cebu, this November 26-29, 2019.
