UB CHMTN holds cultural show 2019

The University of Bohol - College of Hospitality Management, Tourism and Nutrition (UB-CHMTN) recently held a cultural show last September 30, 2019, at the UB Quadrangle.

The whole afternoon event which had the theme “Cultural Enrichment: Sharing and Appreciation of Culture, A Vital Force for Peace,” was organized to encourage and impart unto students and the public alike, awareness about Philippine culture and types of cultural activities such as folk dances and folk songs in the Philippines.

Dr. Maria Asuncion L. Bersabal Dean of the CHMTN welcomed guests and participants while Mr. Vidal Platino, Jr., the University’s Program Chair, was the Guest Speaker.

During the said event, the first-year students of Hospitality Management and Tourism Management students showcased their singing and dancing skills in interpreting the different folk songs and dances from the provinces of Luzon and the Visayas.

Meanwhile, delicious Filipino delicacies from different parts of the country were prepared by the Asian Cuisine students of the University of Bohol under Ms. Jane Doreen Bungabong.

The show revealed to the audience many aspects of our culture and served as a way to help the audience remember our uniqueness as Filipinos.

Organizers led by Dean Bersabal and faculty members Ramon Felisilda, Jr. and Cindy Honey Gio-Medilo were ecstatic about the event’s success and expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the students in ensuring the successful outcome.
