UBSSG holds USpeak on Mental Health Awareness

The University of Bohol Supreme Student Government (UBSSG) facilitated another edition of USpeak with the very timely topic of Mental Health Awareness last September 27, 2019, at the UB Founders Lounge.

Before the activity started, Dr. Sylvia Doron of the College of Midwifery introduced the Vision, Mission, and Goals of the university and also to the departments who will be having their accreditation as part of the UB's preparations for the PAASCU Visit on October 10-11, 2019.

The resource person for this edition of the USpeak was UB Guidance Counselor Ms. Angelita Borja. The participants were very attentive as Ms. Borja started the talk about the issues and concerns regarding mental health. Ms. Borja gave pointers about being positive as well as accepting all the challenges and negative aspects in life so an individual will not feel alone and worthless. After the talk, questions and concerns were raised, which were addressed to the speaker and other guidance counselors who were present. The CYCM also gave an intermission number for the spiritual enlightenment of the audience.

The UBSSG officers were ecstatic for the successful conduct of the event, considering the timeliness of the topic. They were hopeful that even in a short time, the participants were able to learn and realize that one's problems are weaker than their courage and perseverance and that being able to accept the circumstances of our lives will make us stronger and greater. UBians need to know how to cope with stress and go with the flow of life.
