UB braces for PAASCU visit, presents new strategic map

With an eye on the forthcoming visit of the Philippine Association of Accrediting Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU), the University of Bohol (UB) formally presented its new strategic map to its academic and administrative personnel.

Atty. Nuevas T. Montes, UB consultant, meticulously discussed the strategic map and its cascading to the university stakeholders in a meeting held last September 23, 2019, at the Instructional Resource Center (IRC).

During the presentation, Atty. Montes highlighted the vision of UB to become a premier university transforming lives for a great future. The University continues to fulfill its mission of providing holistic education anchored on Scholarship, Character, and Service. With embedded core values as extra-miler, innovative, service-oriented, self-reliant, loyal, and God-loving, the University is optimistic in attaining its vision.

The new strategic map formed part of UB’s general preparations for the upcoming visit of the PAASCU accreditors.

Earlier in December 2018, Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol, III, UB President, stressed the main thrust of his administration to obtain CHED deregulated and autonomous status by the year 2024. Dr. Tirol likewise rallied the college deans and department heads to level up their standard of academic performance by increasing their passing rates in board/bar examinations. As this developed, the University has conducted the retooling of faculty, alignment of curriculum, enhancement of instructional methodology, and continuing education of deans and faculty.

The young University President has also embarked on the continuous upgrading of the institution’s academic standards to be at par with that of the leading universities in the country. This, among others, includes the enhancement of its services, especially in the area of student care.
