UB CpE Team, 2nd in reg’l logic circuit/breadboarding contest

In a bid to enhance the skills and capabilities of the University of Bohol’s Computer Engineering (CpE) students, UB’s CpE students and faculty members recently participated in the 4th Regional CpEYESTA and CpE Student Congress 2019 last September 6, 2019, in the University of San Jose Recoletos in Cebu City.

The event which had the theme “Meeting the Challenge of Industry 4.0,” was organized by the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines-Region 7 (ICpEP-R7), an independent chapter of Computer Engineers of the Philippines-National. It drew participants from the different colleges and universities in Central Visayas who are institutional members of the ICpEP.

During the said congress, the UB CpE students more than held their own against their counterparts from the across the region as UB’s Christian Oerba and Via Camille Cuasito shined in the Logic Circuit/Bread-boarding competition. The two, who are both 5th-year students won second place in the Logic Circuit/Bread-boarding competition.

The activity was divided into two events, the CpEYESTA, and the CpE Student Congress. The CpEYESTA consisted of academic competitions related to Computer Engineering. Meanwhile, the CpE Student Congress included seminars and talks from invited speakers from the different information technology companies in Cebu.

The UB CpE teams were accompanied and coached by the three CpE instructors, namely Engr. Bem Gumapac, Engr. Victor John Anunciado and Engr. Liduvina Namocatcat.
