VDTALC stude breaks Palaro swim record, nabs silvers

Charllyn Allysa Yu Romanos, a Grade 11 student of the University of Bohol - Victoriano B. Tirol Advanced Learning Center (UB-VDTALC) and member of the UB Rockets Swimming Team broke a swimming record in 100m breaststroke (secondary girls) during the recent Palarong Pambansa 2019 Swimming Competition held at the UP - Mindanao Sports Complex in Mintal, Davao City last April 28-May 4, 2019.

By crossing the finish line in 1:16.95, Romanos grabbed the silver medal, while also breaking the old record of 1:17.35 in the 100m breaststroke formerly held by Thanya Angelyn Dela Cruz of NCR during the 2018 Palarong Pambansa in Vigan. Romanos also won another silver medal in the 50m breaststroke (secondary girls) with a time of 35.86 seconds. Prior to the competition, Romanos had already been slated to join the Philippine delegation to the World University Games 2019 in Napoli, Italy.

The young swimmer is the daughter of Mr. Anecito Romanos and Mrs. Rachelle Yu-Romanos of Tagbilaran City.
