UB targets 2023 autonomous status, conducts QA initiatives

In its bid to become an autonomous higher educational institution by the year 2023, the University of Bohol (UB) administration has set into motion the setting and implementation of quality assurance initiatives among its stakeholders.

Last month, UB President Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol, III had taken bold steps in raising the bar of excellence of the university by declaring the goals and targets for the next few years. These were the following: maintain PAASCU III status in the core programs; achieve Level II status in five graduate school programs; Level I accreditation for five more academic programs; and earn Center of Development for Teachers College and Liberal Arts.

The university president also emphasized the need to submit the Institutional Sustainability Assessment (ISA to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). ISA is a quality assurance mechanism endorsed and monitored by the CHED.
