Of the two Philippine swimmers who vied for the 50, 100 and 200m breast stroke, only Tirol landed in the top ten slots.

Meanwhile, his younger brother Victoriano Martin Adiong Tirol IV, a Grade 7 pupil of the Victoriano D. Tirol – Advanced Learning Center and member of the UB Rockets, captured the silver medal in the 50m breaststroke, the bronze medal in 100m breaststroke, and landed 4th in the 50m freestyle during the 2018 Sandugo Swimfest held last July 28-29, 2018 at the VBT Jr. Sports Complex Aquatic Center in Taloto District, Tagbilaran City.

The swimfest which drew swimmers from Bohol, Bukidnon, Cebu, and Leyte was part of the annual Sandugo Festival celebration of the province.
