VDT-ALC swimmers haul medals in Tagbilaran City Meet swimming competition

Home of the only Olympic size swimming pool in the province, the University of Bohol Victoriano D. Tirol – Advanced Learning Center added another haul to it long list of medal tally as its swimmers took turns in contributing their respective shares of medals during the Tagbilaran City Meet held last November 22-25, 2017 at the Victoriano B. Tirol, Jr. Sports Complex Aqua Center.

In the elementary boys division, Victoriano Martin Adiong Tirol, IV bagged 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals, followed by Angelo Noel Galego with 1 gold and 2 bronze medals. Meanwhile in the elementary girls, Jovy Claire Jaspe clinched 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals with fellow swimmer Josen Pia Ybas claiming 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. The elementary division team is under Coach Robert Taguisa, LPT and Trainer Junrie Cruzo.

On the same vein, 8 swimmers in the secondary division have made it to the top 10. Secondary boys: Jummel Nino Jaspe – 2 gold, 1 bronze; Joshua Lacea – 3 silver, 1 bronze; Obed Baloria – 2 silver, 2 bronze; Zachary Lex Castro – 1 silver, 2 bronze medals. Secondary girls: Charllyn Allysa Romanos – 4 gold, 1 silver; Zoe Austral – 2 gold, 1 bronze; Jaryl Mahinay – 1 gold, 2 silver; Gene Nadine Teh – 2 silver medals. Coaches – Maryy Ann Banoc, LPT, and Robert Taguisa, LPT, Trainers –Ruben Impang and Junrie Cruzo.

The young swimmers are qualified to compete in the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) Meet on February 2018 in Bohol.
