UB Criminology bags medals in Karatedo

The University of Bohol College of Criminology Karatedo Team posted another feat in sports when it hauled 8 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals in martial arts event during the 2016 Boholympics.

Playing under their respective local government units, the following student players clinched medals for their hometown, Charice Fostanes (Tagbilaran City) – 2 gold, Marie Francoise Therese Saco ( Tagbilaran City) – 1 gold, 1 silver, Jenra Sajulga (Jagna) – 2 gold, Alfredo Galon (Alicia) – 1 gold, Jessa Manila (Carmen) – 1 gold, 1 silver, Siernil John Palua (Balilihan) – 1 gold, Welson Sumaoy (Baclayon) – 1 silver, 1 bronze, Josephus Erojo (Danao) – 1 silver, Dianne Melencion (Danao) – 1 silver, Christian Busca (Valencia) – 1 silver, and Benjie Naraga (San Isidro) – 1 bronze.

In another development, the college also entertained the fiesta goers of Barangay Tiptip this city during their night show last August 13, 2016. Aside from the traditional dance presentations, Criminology students performed on stage the different self-defense techniques ranging from Karatedo, Aikido, Arnis and other dis-arming fundamentals. To note, Barangay Tiptip is an adopted community of the Criminology department.

In August 14, 2016, the department’s student government under the advisorship of Criminologist Therezil Marie Lapez doled out school supplies to children of Tagbilaran City.
