UB gives learning sessions for employees

UB conducts work performance enhancement sessions in line with its thrust to deliver quality service. The University of Bohol conducted training sessions for selected non-teaching personnel last October 4, 2018 at the College of Engineering and Technology conference room. The in-house trainings were centered on safety and security, basic first aid, inventory management, and re-orientation on the rules and regulations of the University of Bohol. The resource persons were Peejay Somoson, Assistant Security Officer; Dr. Golda T. Olaivar, school physician; Layna Opaco and Leonilendo Casano, school nurses, Eleazar Lanzaderas, property custodian, Marie Melanie O. Tirol, HR Manager, and Frederick Paroginog, Senior HR Assistant.


UB CIs lead convenors of 2nd MCNAP confab

Bannering the theme, “Maternal and Child Nursing Beyond Borders to Attain Best Practices,” the Mother and Child Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MCNAP), held the second MCNAP convention last October 13, 2018, at JJ’s Seafood Village, K of C Drive, this city.

Melinda C. Pausanos RN, RM, MAN, DScN, President of MCNAP Bohol Chapter and Clinical Instructor of the University of Bohol - College of Nursing (UB – CON), disclosed that the convention was geared towards sharing knowledge on the updates beyond the borders of the profession. The participants included doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, midwives and other members of the healthcare team who are primarily engaged in the care of mothers and their children.


UB Celebrates World Teachers Day

Last October 5, 2018, the University of Bohol (UB) together with the UB Supreme Student Government spearheaded the annual honoring and tribute to all teachers as part of the celebration of the World Teachers Day. The event was held at around 4 p.m. at the UB Quadrangle and was attended by faculty members, administrators and by grateful UBians who prepared their presents and surprises for their beloved mentors. The activity featured presentations from the UBSSG officers, selected students and a very inspiring message from the Vice President for Academic Affairs herself, Dr. Lumin T. Pamaran. The highlight of the affair was the giving of presents and surprises to the teachers from their students. After an hour and a half, the event ended with a snack treat prepared by the UBSSG wherein every teacher


UB Welcomes PAASCU Anew

Just a little over a month since its last visit, the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) has again visited the University of Bohol. This time, the PAASCU accreditors scrutinized the College of Criminal Justice (CCJ), College of Nursing (CON) and College of Hospitality Management, Tourism and Nutrition (CHMTN) for Level 1 accreditation.

Eight PAASCU accreditors conducted a simultaneous evaluation of the three departments last October 11-12, 2018, to determine whether the institution has met the quality standards set by the accrediting body. The team was chaired by Dr. Delailah Valencia with members Dr. Naomi De Aro, Dr. Tessie Da Jose, Dr. Cristina Caluza, Mr. Angelo Marco Lacson, Ms. Gilda Octavo, Dr. Rhem Rick Corpuz and Ms. Gemma Chua.
