UB Prexy Inducts UB/RPCAAI Officers, Calls for Continued Support

University of Bohol President Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol, III swore into office the new set of officers of the University of Bohol/Rafael Palma College Alumni Association, Inc. (UB/RPCAAI) in a formal ceremony held last August 17, 2018, at the Belian Hotel, Tagbilaran City.

In his speech, the youthful school bigwig sounded the call for continuous cooperation from the alumni ranks to help the university pursue its incessant thrust for quality education. Dr. Tirol stressed that the present administration is seeking the accreditation of different colleges and departments vis-à-vis enhancing the curricula and upgrading the physical facilities.

UB Hosts BSAA 8th Season

University of Bohol President Victoriano B. Tirol III, led the school administration in welcoming the participants to the opening of the Bohol Schools Athletic Association (BSAA) Meet eight season on August 11, 2018 at the UB gymnasium.

Dr. Tirol who is the incumbent president of the BSAA formally declared the games open in a simple yet fitting ceremony attended by 17 participating schools of the province of Bohol. UB’s Fortunato Libres and Ellen Rose Perez lit the sportsmanship cauldron and led the oath of sportsmanship respectively. The athletic competition in basketball and volleyball will last for four months to be played in different venues.

UB Rockets Tankers Post Records in Separate Swim Tourney

A total of two University of Bohol Rockets Swimming Team members posted individual records in two separate swimming competitions held outside the country and in the province of Bohol.

Rian Marco Adiong Tirol , former UB Rockets Swimming Team Captain and presently a Grade 12 student of the Ateneo de Manila University landed 5th in the 200m breast stroke and 6th in the 50m and 100m breast stroke during the 10th ASEAN School Games held on July 20-17, 2018 at Sha Alam Malaysia.

Hong Kong University Adopts UB CESO's Poverty Alleviation Program

A poverty alleviation program of the University of Bohol - Community Extension Service Office dubbed as the Adopt a Barangay Program has gained the attention of a group of volunteer students from the University of Hong Kong who intend to replicate and integrate it with their community interventions in Bohol.

The visiting Chinese students after their courtesy call with UB President Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol, III formally introduced the Bohol Multi-Approach Community Engagement Project or Bohol MACE Project as a response to the issues identified by the Faculty of Business and Economics of the Hong Kong University in 2017. Through its consultancy service in local micro-business in a barangay in Bohol in 2017, the group has identified important issues that may help in poverty alleviation if properly addressed. The same group admitted their lack of communication skills with the community and their local connections.
