UB prexy delivers SUA during general assembly

In keeping with a longstanding tradition, the University of Bohol (UB) successfully held its general assembly of employees for the first semester of this school year last June 14, 2019, at the UB Gymnasium.

During the assembly, UB President Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol, III, delivered his State of the University Address (SUA) before the members of the academic and administrative councils, faculty and non-teaching employees. Dr. Tirol personally thanked all employees for their collective effort in attaining an increase in enrolment during the last school year 2018-2019, the successful accreditation process of some departments, and the big wins of students and faculty members. He likewise commended Dr. Lumin T. Pamaran, Vice President for Academics, for the continuing curricular review and upgrading to attain quality instruction; Ms. Ria Eva M. Sevilla, Vice President for Administration, for the improved university facilities and systems; and Dr. Maricel A. Tirol, Vice President for Finance, in maintaining the sound financial status of the university.

In his speech, the youthful university president highlighted the thrust of his administration for the University of Bohol to obtain CHED deregulated and autonomous status by the year 2024. Dr. Tirol also rallied the college deans and department heads to level up their standard of academic performance by increasing their passing rates in board/bar examinations. With the retooling of faculty, alignment of curriculum, enhanced instructional methodology, and continuing education of deans and faculty, Dr. Tirol was optimistic that UB would be successful in upgrading its academic standards to be at par with leading universities in the country and enhancing its services especially in the area of student care.

After the president's address, the vice presidents of the university took turns in giving the updates and announcements from their respective offices.
