UB Fine Arts showcases Pinuga sa Hunahuna

The University of Bohol - College of Architecture and Fine Arts (UB-CAFA) again successfully showcased the artworks of its students during the month-long culmination activity and art exhibit dubbed as Pinuga sa Hunahuna last March 5 to 31, 2019 at the UB CAFA Atrium located at Level 4 of the ST building.

Venice Angelie Pelecio, UB Fine Arts instructor, disclosed that the art exhibit is currently on its 20th year. The annual showcase serves as a venue for budding student artists to display their finest and most creative work of arts publicly. Every year, students from different high schools in the city flock to the university to witness the art exhibit since by far, this is dubbed as the best curated and well promoted Art Exhibit in the Province.

This year’s Sandra Dela Serna Excellence Awardees are the following Fine Arts in Advertising (BFA – AA 4) students: Best in Composition - Kent Chester Ochea, Best in Textile Design - Niño Nilo Milana, Best in Life Painting - Marie Louise Cerio and Best in Package Design – Ricky Amila.

For Bachelor of Science in Interior Design (BSID 1) students, the awardees were: Mary Grace Galve – Best in Interior Design, Angel Mae Oclarit –Best in Interior Design Drafting, Anna Marie Banta-ao - Best in Interior Perspective and Jeric Adlaon – Best in Color Studies 1.

The event was graced by Mr. Romulo L. Tagaan, Head of the Center for Culture and Arts Development (CCAD) and at the same time, Director of Foreign Relations of the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) as guest speaker.

With the full support of the UB administration in partnership with the PGBh thru the CCAD and other sponsors, the Pinuga sa Hunahuna will continue to thrive not just as an activity of the UB-Fine Arts program but as a local cultural institution from this point on.
