UB VDTALC JOINS PH HEART MONTH CELEBRATION

In line with the celebration of the Philippine Heart Month, the Victoriano D. Tirol Advanced Learning Center (UB-VDTALC) conducted a seminar on Lifestyle Related Non-Communicable Diseases last February 13, 2019, at the UB-VDTALC Mini-theater.

The purpose of the activity was to spread awareness and promote lifestyle changes to students and employees alike to reduce the risks of developing chronic diseases such as Hypertension, Diabetes, and Stroke.

Dr. Golda T. Olaivar, the school consultant, was the resource person during the seminar. She stressed the importance of applying preventive measures such as: maintaining a healthy diet, exercising in regular intervals, staying away from tobacco/cigarettes and abstaining from alcohol intake.

Meanwhile, blood pressure screening and random blood sugar testing were also done during the event to increase awareness of the common risk factors that contribute to having these diseases.
